Design Capability
Rowecord has an in-house Design Department comprising ten structural designers including both chartered and incorporated engineers.
Design of all types of steel structures and their connections is undertaken using the latest commercially available 2D and 3D computer software. Assessments are also made of the temporary stability of structures during construction and design of temporary works undertaken as necessary to ensure safe and stable working at all stages of the steelwork erection process.
Rowecord welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with project teams at the early stages of projects to provide advice about tailoring designs to ensure buildability, as well as maximum economy of manufacture and erection, so as to produce efficient, safe and fully value engineered solutions.
Drawing Office Capability
Rowecord has an in-house Drawing Office with some thirty drawing personnel.
All drawing work is carried out using CAD software which is specifically devised for structural steelwork detailing.
The majority of drawings are produced by means of 3D modelling of the entire steel structure using Tekla Structures software.
This software also generates data files which can be used to directly control machines in the manufacturing shop.
The use of 3D modelling provides efficiency and accuracy and also provides a valuable tool which can be used for project planning and similar activities.
