Drawing on Our Experience

After the completion of calculations, our process moves on to the preparation of detailed drawings to allow the steel components of the structure to be manufactured, transported to site and erected.

The majority of our drawing production is carried out using Tekla Structures, a bespoke software package tailor made for the 3D modelling of steel structures and preparation of fabrication drawings and other essential data.

Our draughting team prepares a comprehensive 3D model, incorporating full details of all steel members, connection plates, bolts, stiffeners, etc. This then is used to generate fabrication drawings of every individual steel component, marking plans and general arrangement drawings so that site assembly can go ahead.

The Tekla software also is used to generate data files, which are downloaded to machines in the factory for the automation of cutting and drilling processes and the scribing of marks on the steel for accurate positioning of fittings.
